The year 2014 began with a shocking revelation, Delhi was declared the world’s most polluted city as the PSI (Pollution Standard Index) rose to 200+ Air pollution is playing havoc with the health of the people. The air quality in Delhi is deteriorating day by day. Ironically, the world’s fastest growing economy, is a disaster on the environmental front. Greenlco Eco Foundation addresses environmental issues, generating awareness through various programmes in schools, colleges and institutions. A campaign against air pollution , ‘care for DELHI air’, was launched on Environment Day, 2014, to awaken the concerned agencies and the masses to STOP i.e. (STAND TO OPPOSE POLLUTION). ECORUN is being organized on October 2, 2014, 7.00 am onwards on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Lal Bhadur Shastri to pay a befitting tribute to the great men, who worked tirelessly to make the environment better. We propose to plan this event every year in Delhi and the NCR. ECORUN will be flagged off from the road opposite DDA Sports Complex , Sector 11. Wild life week is from 2nd October 2014. Schools should create awareness for peaceful coexistence and love for wild life wether it is butterfly, bird or wild animal itself. We invite you to represent your school / organization / RWA to participate in maximum numbers in the ‘ECORUN’. It would be highly appreciated if the parents too, participate, support and cheer their wards. Each participant will get a medicinal plant. There are prizes to be won in different categories.
